The color pale is associated with the appearance of a human body when the blood has been drained from it. Leviticus 17:11 states that the life of the flesh is in the blood. Armed with this information, we can conclude that flesh without blood is death.

The pale horse is carrying, not just one rider, but two riders — in tandem. The first rider’s name is Death. Note the name of the second rider. His name is Hell. Usually, when someone dies in an unrighteous state, his final destination is hell. Because Hell follows Death, this indicates that the pale horse is symbolic for physical death and spiritual death.

The pale horse and its riders are responsible for murdering a huge segment of the earth’s population. There are several weapons of choice to accomplish this mission. The weapons are swords, hunger, and beasts. The swords are your typical wars and the hunger is famine and rationing. The beasts in this sense are not your traditional wild animals but are the power to destroy an individual’s physical life and soul.

The pale horse follows the white horse, red horse, and the black. The totality of these four horses is to systematically degrade man to the points that he abandons his faith in Almighty God and turn to alternative sources of compassion. The conquest of the pale horse is to guarantee the destruction of one’s soul.

Share

The pale horse in Revelation 6:7-8 is a representation of death.
