It has been debated for years whether or not the False Prophet is Jewish or some other nationality. Many of the Jews living in Israel don’t accept the idea that Jesus of Nazareth was the Messiah. They are still waiting for the Messiah to make his presence here on earth. In actuality, many Jews believe the Messiah will appear, but just haven’t appeared as of yet. Jesus of Nazareth was the true messiah; therefore when the False Prophet appears on the scene, many Jews will readily accept him as their messiah. This prophesy extends all the way back to Moses; Deu. 18:15-18, “the LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me…” It was also prophesied that the messiah would be born in Israel; Mic. 5:2, “…thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel…” The False prophet must come from Israel, from among his brethren; therefore he must be of Jewish descent. It’s not conceivable for the Jews to accept a gentile as their messiah.
